BMW Motorrad Celebrates 100 Years with Record-Breaking Sales Achievement

BMW celebrates 100 years with the highest sales volume in its history, having delivered 209,257 motorcycles and scooters. Recorded sales figures in Asia, Europe, and Latin America significantly contributed to BMW Motorrad’s record sales volume. It also recorded strong sales in Germany and North America. 

BMW Motorrad tops the chart, taking the number one spot in the premium motorcycle and scooter category. This showcases the brand’s efficient strategic orientation through innovation leadership, a strong brand, and a highly attractive product range. Consequently, BMW Motorrad remains ideally positioned and confident about 2024.

The brand recorded significant sales in Europe, a 47 % increase compared to the previous years. There was also record growth in Eastern Europe, twice the last year’s figure. Several countries in other regions made significant contributions, such as a 1.6% increase in Asia, an 8.1% sales increase in Brazil, and a 20.4% increase in India.

The sporty four-cylinder BMW motorcycle models with uncompromised dynamism resulted in a successful broad range of positive sales. Popular new models such as the touring endure icon BMW S 1000 RR or the high-powered BMW M 1000 R were among the convincing product portfolios with successful offerings that yielded successful performance for the year.

The S 1000 RR takes the top position as the supersport bike, with the highest sales count of 11, 442 units (+13.9%). With 3,655 units delivered to buyers, the M 1000 R hyperroadster surpassed all expectations. A total of 25,194 units of the high-performance sporty four-cylinder models, including the exclusive M 1000 RR, S 1000 R, and S 1000 XR, were delivered globally.

BMW Motorrad also recorded positive sales in the mid-range segment and segment of about 500 cc, including the F-series with two-cylinder engines and G-models with single-cylinder engines. Despite being particularly new with customers, a sales count of 11,064 units was recorded for the F 750 GS.
