All eyes were on BMW at the 2024 Good Wood Festival of Speed as enthusiasts and other event attendees witnessed the unveiling of a wide range of BMW vehicles with a distinct combination of technology and luxury. The brand redefined the luxury segment with elevated levels of electrification and digitalization with its latest range of urban vehicles. BMW debuted the all-new BMW M5 and BMW X3 at BMW’s Trackside stand. The new and exclusive BMW M4 CS was seen for the first time in the UK and joined on the hill by the innovative BMW XM Label.
Festivalgoers beheld the spectacular BMW M Hybrid V8 and BMW R20 concept in action. At the same time, the Stable Yard provided the ideal stage for BMW’s Vision Neue Klasse, the upscale BMW Concept Skytop, and BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA with color-change technology developed with the artistic language of South African artist Esther Mahlangu. The new models from BMW M were also displayed at Trackside, including the facelifted BMW M2, the new BMW M135, and the BMW M3 Touring, while the BMW M Hybrid V8 LMDh took center stage.
The global debut of the all-new BMW M5 was undeniably a highlight momentum for BMW M at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. For the first time, the legendary high-performance salon from BMW M GmbH enters its seventh generation with an electrified drive system. Thanks to its high-revving V8 engine paired with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive, the BMW M5 accelerates from 0 – 62 mph in about 3.5 seconds.
The new BMW X3 M50 xDrive, the fourth generation SAV, was unveiled at the Goodwood. It adds a new chapter to the BMW X3 success story, which started over 20 years ago. It delivers greater sporting appeal, visual impact, and versatility. It also features the most robust six-cylinder in-line petrol engine engineered in an M Performance model.
In the ‘First Glance’ category, the new race-focused BMW M4 CS tackled the famous 1.16-mile course. It features a high-revving six-cylinder in-line 3.0-liter engine with M Twin Power Turbo technology, lightweight design elements, and model-specific chassis tuning.
